Joshua “DJ Twig” Elzey began his DJing career by playing college house parties. Due to his growing popularity, he began working with a firm in 1997, but soon decided to remain independent after realizing that people liked him for his own musical talent and social abilities. Josh started working at several clubs around Virginia Tech college, where he was a student, and quickly became a sorority and frat favorite and a resident DJ at many of their functions, including weddings, fundraisers, homecoming and other special events. As a result, Josh learned to work with many different types of people and atmospheres.

Since his beginning in Virginia, Josh has continued to spin regularly along the East coast, from Florida, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Massachusetts and New Hampshire. He is well adapted to the Top 40 scene for clubs, plus specializes in several eclectic styles such as Urban/Hip Hop, R&B, Reggaeton, Modern/Classic/Hard Rock, Mainstream Dance, and others while at the same time learned to perform efficiently for weddings and other family-oriented parties with disco, 40's - 60's oldies, etc.
